Admissions Criteria – 2019 / 2020 – Consultation Exercise

In accordance with the requirements of the School Admissions Code (2014) in Paragraph 1.45, the School is required to consult with all interested parties if we intend to change our Admissions Criteria.

For 2019 / 2020, the Governors are proposing the following changes to the Oversubscription Criteria highlighted in yellow:

Oversubscription Criteria

Where there are more applications than the number of places available, places will be offered according to the following order of priority: -

1.       Catholic ‘looked after’ children and previously ‘looked after’ children, who have been adopted or made subject to child arrangements orders or special guardianship orders.

2.       Baptised Catholic children, with a Certificate of Catholic Practice, who have a sibling at the school at the time of admission.

3.       Baptised Catholic children with a Certificate of Catholic Practice, who are resident in the Parish of St. Paul the Apostle, Wood Green.

4.       Baptised Catholic children, with a Certificate of Catholic Practice, whose parent is a baptised Catholic member of staff who has been employed at the School for two or more years at the time of application and / or baptised Catholic children of a baptised Catholic member of staff who has been recruited to fill a vacancy for which there is a demonstrable skill shortage.

5.       A Catholic child with a Certificate of Catholic Practice.

6.       Other baptised Catholics.

7.       Other ‘looked after’ children and previously ‘looked after’ children  who have been adopted or made subject to child arrangements orders or special guardianship orders.

8.       Children whose parent is a member of staff who has been employed at the School for two or more years at the time of application and / or children of a member of staff who has been recruited to fill a vacancy for which there is a demonstrable skill shortage.

9.       Children of catechumens and members of an Eastern Christian Church.

10.   Christians of other denominations whose application is supported either by a certificate of baptism or by a letter from their Minister of Religion confirming membership of the faith community.

11.   Children for whom the School has received a Supplementary Information Form.

12.   Any other children.
