We will be celebrating Roald Dahl Day again on Wednesday 13th September. This year the School Council are organising the day and have asked for the following information to be shared with you all.

Roald Dahl’s work and life will be celebrated in a number of ways on the 13th September:
  • Dressing up – children are asked to dress up as a Roald Dahl character or wearing yellow which was his favourite colour
  • Book Swap – all children are asked to bring in a book (that’s in good condition) to swap with another child in their class
  • Designing a front cover of a book – everyone will be given the opportunity to design their own front cover for their favourite Roald Dahl book
  • Golden Tickets - 8 golden tickets will be hidden around the school. The children who find them will be able to sit, with a friend, on the special Roald Dahl table at lunch time.
  • Roald Dahl Menu – children are invited to cook a meal that would suit a Roald Dahl book e.g. Grandma’s ‘insects’ in ‘George’s Marvellous Medicine’ and bring in a photo of the meal for a school display

Roald Dahl Day is led by the Roald Dahl Trust who ask that schools taking part in the day make a donation to the Roald Dahl Charitable Trust which is a registered UK charity (no. 1119330). The money raised goes towards helping sick children and funding the Roald Dahl Museum. Therefore, we ask that each child brings a donation of £1 on the day that the school will send to the charity
