Admissions Policy 2020-21

posted 10 Dec 2018, 10:45 by St Martin of Porres   [ updated 10 Dec 2018, 10:45 ]

The governing body is proposing changes to the Admissions Policy for 2020/2021 and would like to consult with parents and all interested parties. In line with many other catholic primaries in Haringey it is suggested that we no longer request that parents submit a Certificate of Catholic practice. The present and proposed policies and supplementary information forms can be found on the school website here. Please send your written comments to Breda Sullivan in the school office, or by email to admin2@st-martinporres.haringey.sch.uk by 18th January 2019.

The Christmas Fair will soon be upon us – so just a reminder to keep that afternoon free. There will be the usual stalls as well as a special visitor from the North Pole. On Friday 7th December we will be having a non-school uniform day and for this luxury everyone is asked to bring in a bottle for the Tombola stall. You are welcome to send in your donation the during the week beginning Monday 3rd December. Please speak to your Class Reps so that every class knows which stalls they are responsible for.

Haringey Outstanding For All Awards

posted 9 Nov 2018, 12:06 by St Martin of Porres   [ updated 9 Nov 2018, 12:07 ]

We are delighted to announce that the 2017-18 Mini-Vinnies team have been shortlisted for the ‘Community Hero of the Year’ Award in the Haringey Outstanding for All Awards. The Mini Vinnies worked tirelessly last year to lead initiatives, turning their concern for others into action, and they helped others less fortunate than them locally, nationally and globally. Today, a film crew was in school interviewing the children and recording them talking about their work, about what it feels like to be nominated while Mrs. Fleming was asked to speak about why she put them forward for a short film. The nominees also had to
say “why my school is brilliant” – this is a celebratory video building on the Ofsted and exam successes from earlier in the year and giving a flavour for what people love about their school. It was very exciting. The awards ceremony will be taking place on the evening of 26th November at Alexandra Palace and we will let you know the outcome.
