Grenfell Tower: Non- Uniform Day Friday 23rd June

posted 18 Jun 2017, 04:55 by St Martin of Porres   [ updated 18 Jun 2017, 04:55 ]
You will all have seen images of Grenfell Tower in the news this week. Sadly, amongst our Catholic schools’ community in London we have a number of pupils who have extended family members still unaccounted for, who lived within the tower. Families across our local Catholic schools have lost possessions and are in a time of absolute dire need. The local centres are now overwhelmed with donations of clothes, food and essentials for daily living. There is a need, however, for money so that families can be rehoused. Catholic Schools across the Westminster Diocese are holding a non-uniform day on Friday 23rd June to raise money support these families.

For a donation of at least £1.00 the children can wear their own clothes and all the money collected in all the schools will be given to the Catholic Children’s Society’s Crisis Fund who
are issuing cheques to families who need support. We hope that the St. Martin’s parents will respond to this Westminster Diocese initiative with their usual generosity so that we can help families begin to re-build their lives.
